ENCRAFT’s new low threshold uPVC doors for all types of housings is a blend of innovation and tender care for our safety at home.
Suitable for single or double door options, the new ergonomically-tested threshold reduces the step height of nothing to just 25mm – one of the lowest effective heights in the industry. The threshold not only ensures that the step for everyone is as small as possible, it also cares the disabled, elderly and persons moving on pushchairs. It can be used with any type of flooring, be it carpeted, tiled or wooden floors. Non-slip inserts in the threshold ensure a safe grip in wet conditions.
ENCRAFT doors are available in two threshold options which are suitable for different applications. The sliding door comes with the standard threshold with a height of 52mm or a low threshold with a height of 25 mm. The casement door comes with the standard threshold options of 50mm and 62mm, but these doors area also available without any threshold. You could choose the right threshold for your door as per your requirement that will ensure you are happy with your choice for years to come.
A low threshold for uPVC sliding doors?
A threshold for traditional uPVC doors is located at the foot of the door itself to provide a weather tight seal from the elements. In previous years, uPVC door thresholds featured a solid piece of outer frame that went around the entire door, meaning you had no options but to step over the outer frame to gain entry to your home.
This was considered awkward for many homeowners over the years, but against the benefits of dramatically increased thermal efficiency over timber doors many accepted that comparatively small inconvenience.
Since the introduction of low thresholds, all homeowners choosing to fit ENCRAFT doors with low thresholds can now benefit from the convenience of a low aluminium threshold, and still enjoy all the benefits of their uPVC doors.
The options available are numerous and range from 62mm to having no threshold at all.
